Camellia Oil

Camellia oil has been around for centuries. It is a light oil that is absorbed quickly. Also known as Japanese tea oil. It is a flowering red plant with red bloom. It is used in China also as a cooking oil. The Japanese have been using this for their face and hair for centuries. It has many therapeutic properties.

It is a superb antioxidant and has a long shelf life. It is also anti-aging which means that it protects the skin from harsh evirnomental factors and free radicals. In addition, it stops the proliferation of microbes and has anti-fungal properties. It has a mild astringent effect and reduces imflammation. This oil is not recommended for acne prone skin. For acne-prone skin try a combination of fractinated coconut oil and perilla oil or golden jojoba.

You can add  a few drops of essential oils that are skin safe to an ounce of camellia oil. Frankincense, geranium, palmarosa are very good and bergamot which has the bergaptene removed. Lavender can be used but not more than 2 drops. It can be harsh for sensitive skin.
